CEC Wangyal on 3- days tour of Khaltsi sub division Visits Aryan Valley, Achinathang and Lehdo villages on first day
Leh, March 4: The Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh Gyal. P Wangyal today begins his three day tour of Khaltsi sub division. Today, on the first day, CEC along with Executive Councillor for Agriculture Phuntosg Stanzin, district and sub divisional level offices and engineers headed by District Superintending Engineer PWD, Leh Pardip Sharma and SDM, Khaltsi Tsering Motup visited Dha, Baima, Hanu Gongma, Hanu Yokma, Hanu Thang, Achinathang, Achinathang Gongma and Lehdo villages of Skurbuchan constituency.
Addressing people gathering at all the villages, CEC Wangyal greeted people for getting our only and long pending demand ï¿½UT for Ladakhï¿½ fulfilled under Modi Govt. ï¿½Now the people of Ladakh can dream speedy development and for that there will be no shortage of funds.ï¿½ Said Wangyal and added that approving abut Rs. 6000 crore budget for Ladakh by union govt. is a huge budget for Ladakh which will lead Ladakh in the golden era of development in every sphere of life. ï¿½Ladakh used to get only 2% share of budged during the erstwhile J&K Govt., now the people of Ladakh can dream big ï¿½. Quipped Wangyal.
Wangyal said that during erstwhile J&K govt. we use to get only Rs. 56 crore, now the capex budget of Hill Council Leh for the year 2020-21 is Rs. 234 crore to carry out developmental activities in Leh district. ï¿½ Now the concern of Council is to ensure complete and timely utilization of funds and people must extend their cooperation to executing agencies and village Panchyants in execution of works.ï¿½ Urged Wagyal.
Regarding drinking water facilities in villages, CEC aware people about PM Modi Jal Jeevan Mission ( JJM), aims to provide tap water to all household of nation by 2024 and directed SE PWD, Xen PHE and Engineers to ensure complete door to door survey of every household and urged Sarpanches and villages to support survey team for full coverage of household in their respective villages.
Urging people to give their children in govt schools, CEC Wangyal reiterated that Council will always give top priority to education sector. He said that education is the key for development and prosperity and assured that Council will give every possible support and assistance to strengthen govt schools in Leh district.
EC Punchok who is also the area Councillor highlighting the issues and demand of villages said that all basic facilities like power, mobile network, bank services and LPG home delivery were immensely improved in Aryan valley and adjacent villages in last four years. Other pending demands of all the villages are under active consideration of Council. Said Phuntsog and added that pending projects and new demands will be taken care of in the 2020-21 Capex Budet priority wise.
Talking about upcoming Rs. 250 crore MODI project in Leh district, EC Punchok said that in coming days a team of agriculture and allied officers will visit villages of Shaam area first to prepare farmers of MODI project aimed at to convert Leh district into organic and sustainable farming region.
Some major demands projected by the people of Aryan valley were separate Counicllor for Aryan belt, home stay facilities, construction of new irrigation canals and restoration of old ones, bridges improvement of roads, drinking water facilities and many more.
CEC on spot directed concerned engineers and officers to resolve minor issues and demands and assured to fulfill major demands priority wise.
